Logan Blackman – Professional Organist, Pianist, Bassoonist, Composer and Conductor in Central New York
Logan Blackman is a multifaceted musician based in Central New York, with roots in Syracuse and Phoenix. Born and raised in Paducah, Kentucky, Logan is an organist, pianist, bassoonist, composer, and conductor who brings a unique multi-lensed perspective to every performance.
His musical journey was sparked by the haunting melody of Davy Jones’ theme from Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Man’s Chest, igniting a lifelong love for music. After losing his parents at the age of 15, Logan poured his soul into the art form, ultimately earning both his bachelor’s and master’s degrees in music performance from the University of Kentucky.
At just 17, he founded the Blackman Wind Symphony—a bold and ambitious ensemble that thrived from 2013 to 2017. His conducting credits span a wide array of prestigious ensembles, including the University of Kentucky Wind Symphony, Symphony Orchestra, and Philharmonic Orchestra; the University of Utah Philharmonic and All Campus Orchestras; and the Murray State University Wind Ensemble.
As an organist, Logan has also appeared as a soloist and collaborator with the Salt Lake Symphony, University of Utah orchestras, and University of Kentucky orchestras—bringing symphonic color and emotional depth to both concert works and sacred repertoire.
Logan currently serves as the organist at St. David’s Episcopal Church in DeWitt, New York. He has also been member of the American Guild of Organists - Syracuse Chapter since 2024. Whether it’s a wedding, a memorial, concert, or a sacred service, he brings a deeply personal and professional touch to each event, creating unforgettable musical experiences rooted in beauty and authenticity.
